Language is the best means of communication. All our activities are regulated by language. With the help of language, we can express our thoughts and feelings to others. Without language, society would be impossible.
The first language we learn is our Mother Tongue – at home, with friends, and in school. As we listen and speak, we learn our native language before we begin to read and write.
In this age of globalisation, English language helps to communicate with the rest of the world. It becomes a means to be exposed to global knowledge and is thus important for students as it broadens their minds, develops emotional skills, improve the quality of life by providing job opportunities.
